This happened
to me a lot when I first started knitting.
I figured out
that I often ended up with too few stitches because I knit two
stitches together by accident. The easiest way to fix it is to
increase a stitch on the next row to get back to the right
number of stitches. You can increase stitches in the middle of
the row or you can increase at the beginning of the row. To
increase at the beginning of the row, you can just make an
e-wrap stitch like you learned in my book for casting on. If you
want to increase a stitch in the middle of the row, you can see
how to do it here: Increasing Stitches.
If you don’t
want to just add a stitch in the middle of your knitting, then
you have to rip back to the place where the mistake happened. To
see how to do that, look at the video on
Frogging.
TIP: It’s a good
idea to count your stitches every couple of rows when you first
start knitting. That way you can find your mistake before you
get too far.
